Demolition shears

Cut through anything. Built to last. Demolition’s sharpest edge
For over 30 years, Zato has been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing high-efficiency hydraulic demolition shears for recycling medium to heavy ferrous and nonferrous scrap. The Cayman is the best choice for cutting material at scrapyards, offering innovative technical solutions and a top-quality steel structure. Developed by Zato in 1999, these shears remain unmatched in reliability, robustness, and durability, with a distinctive design featuring a signature middle line along the sides and a unique contour on the moveable beak.
Designed to perform
The Cayman delivers extraordinary cutting capacity with reversible blades, a second jaw guide, and a blade-covered tip for enhanced precision. Designed to reduce the size of steel bars, aluminum, profiles, and bulky scrap, these shears optimize material recovery while ensuring improved operation and maintenance performance. Crafted in Italy, the Cayman Demolition Shears integrate cutting-edge technology and innovative cutting techniques to set a new standard in performance and durability, making them truly indestructible.
Cayman Features
- Blades:
Secured with counter-sunk screws inserted from the outside to protect them from damage and allow blades to be removed even if the jaw is jammed. - Cutting Jaw:
Large, fixed jaw opening discharges cut scrap and prevents blade jamming. - Rotation Unit:
The rotation unit has an anti-cavitation valve to protect the rotation motor and gears when excessive shear torsion may occur.
- Large Maintenance Panel:
Provides quick and easy access for maintenance and inspection. - Central Pin:
Manufactured from hardened chrome-plated steel and is resistant to bending and shocks. A steel pin is inserted using nitrogen. - Mobile Jaw Guiding System:
AKA the clutch, keeps the jaw correctly aligned to improve cutting performance and reduce blade wear.
